The biggest thing on most people’s fall bucket list is to go apple picking. Although this may be a stereotypical activity, it is one of my favorite things. Something about apple cider and donuts bought on a brisk day after running around laughing on a farm really just puts me in a good mood. For the day we went a few weeks ago, the weather was just beginning to turn chilly so I wore boyfriend denim shorts with an oversized mens mock neck sweater from J. Crew. I layered it with a scarf and thigh high knit socks to give it a more seasonally appropriate vibe. I played around with texture wearing this funky driver’s cap.
While apple picking maybe stereotypical, my family definitely has a strange twist to this east coast favorite fall activity. After our apple picking, powdered donuts and cider, we drive down the road to a cheesey sea food restaurant decorated like a rainforest with fake animals. We eat lobsters, clams, and muscles. Its definitely a weird combo, but its a quirky tradition that I truly love.
Are the shorts too summery or did I make them work? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
Love the sweater/shawl hat look and Rachael’s jacket and headband!!! Great autumn looks.
