Its crazy to think that I’ve now been alive long enough to see style cycles begin and end, but I guess thats what happens when you’ve been alive for almost a decade and most fashion trends circle within a 5 year span (and thats being generous with the timing). Regardless, this look is inspired by my early childhood bringing back the not so distant early thousands. My beret is actually authentically from that time period (because we still have all my berets and the pictures of me rocking them with capris and crocs and spaghetti strap tees laying around the house).
Besides the throw back beret, I adore the warm mustard color scheme of this look. By now you all know that colors are super important to me, so in this mellow yellow ensemble with black accents I was feeling extraordinarily put together. The tight corduroy mustard skirt pairs perfectly with the sparkly yellow socks and the warm accent colors (even the little yellow button). Even my nails matched the ensemble. While yellow can definitely be a fall color I think its the perfect color to pair with white to transition.
This pussy bow blouse is a classic comfortable piece that I love to dress up and down. The business edge it brings to the look works well with my platform oxfords.
Let me know what you think of this look!
